Making a Cameo

This is my first attempt creating a PSP Tutorial, so please bear with me. The cameo used in this tutorial has been donated to the Fly By Night Graphics group by Rain0962 and is NOT to be included in any collection.

You can download the needed files for this tutorial here.

When you begin this or any other projects, you should save as you go. Start your project and then File/Save as and save it to a folder where you normally keep PSP images. Then save (CTRL S) after every step or so. Saving often really helps cut down on the frustration of losing it when or if those lovely Illegal Operations happen or your 'puter just feels like freezing up!!

Let's begin:

1. Open a new transparent image, 600 X 600 and the cameo.psp file.
2. Add a layer. Using the text tool, set your font to Fleurons and apply these settings:

Then hit "OK". If necessary, move the ding in the center of your image.
3. Select the deformation tool. Stretch the top of the image to about 50 (you will need to have your rulers turned on).
4. Go to your plugins and apply the "we shinygold" Blade Pro preset.
5. Make the cameo image active, then go Image, Resize, 75% and hit "OK".
6. Now go Edit, copy.
7. Make your new image active, and go Edit, Paste As New Layer, then Selections, Select None. Use the mover tool to move the cameo in the center of the ding. The Ding will overlap the cameo just a little, that's ok.
8. Add a new layer. Select the preshape tool, adjust your setting to:

Now, make an oval around the edge of the cameo, use the deformation tool to make any kind of little adjustments you may need. The oval should cover the edge of the cameo, as well as the tips of the ding.
9. Use the magic wand to make the oval active, and apply the "we shiny gold" Blade Pro preset. Select none.

There you have it. If you have any problems with these instructions, let me know and I'll fix them immediately.
