Changing Email Sig Tags In Outlook Express
The Easy Way

For this tutorial you will need:

Outlook Express 5 (should work in 6 as well)

Your favorite Sig Tag - What you don't have a favorite Sig-Tag?

Has an excellent tutorial for creating Sig-Tags for use with Outlook Express. Please visit her site.

This tutorial was inspired by Gina's SigTag tutorial. Make sure you visit her site for more on making SigTags and much much more. Any resemblance to other tutorials is purely coincidental.

Lets Begin!

Prepare your Sig Tag as you wish or following Gina's Sig Tag Tutorial. Once you have your tag & your HTML code done, open Outlook Express

Go to Tools/Options/Signatures

Deselect the option "Add signature to all outgoing messages". Leave everything else set as is and select "OK"

In Outlook, Select New Mail Message. The body of your message will be blank. This is great if you share resources with someone else as i do.

Place your cursor in the body of your message, and go to Insert/Signature and select any of the signatures from your list. For this example, I chose the SitTag made from one of the FBNG archive tutorials.

Once you have picked your signature, you can add a background if you like, insert your image, etc.

In the example above, there is a empty square with a red x in it. Here you can insert any image you like by placing a simple table in your HTML file. This code is shown below.

<TABLE width="90%" align=center border=0>
<TBODY>
<TR>
<TD width=310>
<IMG alt="" hspace=0 src="insert image here" align=baseline border=0>
</TD>
<TD>
<FONT face="GoudyOlSt BT" color=#000080 size="4"> <DIV>text here</DIV>
<DIV>Enjoy!</DIV>
</font>
</TD>
</TR>
</TBODY>
</TABLE>

Now when you prepare your email message, and click on the "insert image here" space shown above you will get the following dialogue box:

Simply browse to the folder you keep your beautiful images, select the image you want to display, click OK and your image will be inserted in your email.

The "text here" space noted above, allows you to type your message beside your image. Simply highlight the "text here" and begin typing your message.
